The SolarAttic PCS3 Solar Pool Heater is built for long-term performance and reliability. To support this, SolarAttic provides a limited warranty covering manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship.
This page outlines the full warranty coverage, requirements, exclusions, and conditions so you clearly understand how your system is protected.
Warranty Coverage Period
The PCS3 Solar Pool Heater is warranted as follows:
36 months (3 years) from the date of first consumer installation
OR
54 months from the date of factory shipment
👉 The earlier of these two timeframes applies.
Warranty Registration Requirements
To activate full warranty coverage:
A warranty registration card must be completed and returned
A receipted bill of sale must be provided
Registration must be completed within 30 days of installation
If registration is not completed:
👉 The warranty period will begin based on factory shipment date, not installation date.
What the Warranty Covers
This limited warranty covers:
✔ Defects in materials✔ Defects in workmanship✔ Repair or replacement of defective parts
SolarAttic will:
Inspect the defective component
Repair or replace it (at their discretion)
Return the part via standard shipping
What the Warranty Does NOT Cover
The PCS3 warranty is very specific about what is excluded.
❌ Chemical Damage
Damage caused by improper pool chemistry is NOT covered.
This includes:
pH levels outside 7.2 – 7.6 range
Corrosion of heat exchanger coils
👉 Maintaining proper water chemistry is critical.
❌ Improper Chemical Installation
Chemical feeders MUST be installed downstream of the heater
Introducing chemicals directly into the heater will void the warranty
❌ Freeze Damage
Failure to properly winterize the system will void the warranty.
This includes:
Water left in system during freezing temperatures
Cracking due to freeze expansion

❌ Labor & Service Costs
The warranty does NOT cover:
Labor for removal or installation
Service calls
Transportation costs
❌ Misuse or Improper Installation
The warranty does not apply if the system has been:
Improperly installed
Modified or altered
Repaired by unauthorized personnel
Operated outside design limits
❌ Environmental Damage
Damage caused by:
Corrosive environments
Negligence
Accidents
is not covered.
Important Design Notes (Not Warranty Defects)
The PCS3 system uses corrugated (waffled) fins on the heat exchanger.
👉 These are intentional and improve efficiency.
Slight bending of fins is normal
Cosmetic fin damage is NOT considered a defect
Performance is not affected
SolarAttic Warranty Responsibility
SolarAttic’s responsibility under this warranty is limited to:
👉 Repair or replacement of defective parts only
This is the exclusive remedy provided to the buyer.
Limitation of Liability
The warranty includes important legal limitations:
No implied warranties of merchantability or fitness
Liability is limited to the original purchase price
SolarAttic is NOT responsible for:
Consequential damages
Incidental damages
Legal Jurisdiction
All warranty disputes:
Governed under Minnesota law
Must be resolved in Swift County, Minnesota
